homepage for Boy Scout Troop 225 !
Boy Scout Troop 225 is an active
troop. The Troop currently has 54 scouts registered and has an active group
of parents involved with the troop.
Membership in the Troop is available to
boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old
or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but
not yet 18 years old.
Troop 225 is committed to local youth and to the
welfare of our community. Through leadership, survival and preparedness
training, Troop 225 is supplying our community with responsible youth who
have a firm grasp on reality. This is accomplished by providing our scouts
with the ability to enjoy activities generally not available outside of
scouting.
Community activities included -
Partnering with Clean Streams at
Isle of Wight Wildlife Management Area and removing trash from the marsh
areas
Cleaning up after Relay for Life at Frontier Town
Assisting with Ocean
City's Marathon
Working with the Life Saving Station assisting with games
geared towards children at Sunset Park
Setting up for the Memorial Day
service at the Worcester County Veteran's Memorial at Ocean Pines.
Fund-raising events included a Waterman's dinner, Applebees's Pancake
breakfast, Synepuxent Rod & Gun Club Turkey Shoot and selling popcorn.
Recent activities included a high adventure hiking trip to the Presidential
Range in New Hampshire. Last Summer the troop went to summer camp at Rodney
Scout Reservation.
Generally the troop has a camping trip every month. Last
year we had weekend trips to -

Appalachian Trail hike from Gathland State Park to I-70
